Recently worked for the Sunland Group, Australian ASX listed company. In 2016 Yas completed FUNDAEC Contributing to the Advancement of Civilisation course on “Justice and the Oneness of Humankind”. 

Yas sits on the MBA alumni committee at Bond University, holds an Executive MBA from Bond University, QLD, Australia and graduated from the executive School of Business at Stanford University, CA, USA.

Kate Eason is the owner of Food deFined and has made it her personal mission to build a healthy world through education of what true health feels like.

Imagine if you knew exactly what your body needed! It could be life-changing, and Kate has seen this happen many times.

Her passion is evident when she is consulting with individuals, couples and families; when public speaking; presenting workshops and seminars; and playing about at a cooking class.

To educate and help people create an eating lifestyle that helps them balance their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual life means all of Kate’s core values are met.

Outside of her work she enjoys cooking with wholefoods, being active with things like hiking, getting up for the sunrise, and doing a bit of self-development. All of this passion and zest for life comes through in her work.

My focus is to help guide those who are willing to make a conscious movement towards making a positive transformation and to extend the knowledge that has been passed onto me from my gurus and teachers over the last 26 years. I am willing to share that wisdom with anyone that is open to the science of yoga - the art of acquiring the utmost state of your body, mind, and consciousness.

Ian also has 25 years  of experience working with elite, professional and special needs athletes to where he is committed to giving you 100% effort and commitment towards improving quality of your life.

Australian citizen born in Brazil, Vivianne has large experience working with people. First as a nurse, then salesperson and manager for an import/export company. Since moving to Gold Coast 6 years ago decided to go back to study and finished bachelor’s in architecture through Bond University and currently study Master in Architecture/Masters in Project Management also in Bond University. Her goal is to use to her diversity and personal experience to contribute for the betterment of society and she considers Serving Our People to be the ideal platform to achieve this.

As an SOP Advisory Board Member, I’m able to draw on my now considerable experience working in a variety of senior marketing and sales roles in Australia and overseas in a range of premium financial services brands such as Westpac, NAB. Macquarie and now Ellerston Capital.

My educational background is very communications and finance focused, with a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences and a Master of Commerce both from Sydney University.

I currently head up New Resident Investment Solutions at Ellerston Capital, the well-known boutique investment manager based in Sydney, with a clientele of HNW migrants who have been granted investment visas as a pathway to Australian residency.

I have worked with Yas Matboully, SOP’s extremely dedicated and talented founder, for many years professionally, and am so thrilled to be able to be a part of such an exciting and valuable innovation in the provision of community service as SOP, and with such an amazing team of execs and volunteers. We already are making such a huge difference to the lives of the people we serve and the growth in demand is astonishing.

Based in Sydney, I’m looking forward to being able to be involved as a volunteer myself when the service soon arrives here.

John Perry OAM

Awarded an OAM in 2019 for a life of community service, John has undertaken various roles in the areas of workforce planning, corporate social responsibility and social enterprise development for BoysTown, now yourtown, while also leading the Perry Group in Queensland, as well as Jobs Queensland. Working in and around Brisbane, Logan, Redlands, Moreton Bay and Ipswich LGAs since 1983, he is currently a member of the Logan City Council Leadership Group, as well as a Committee Member for the Logan & Redlands Regional Development Authority (RDA) and a Board Member of FGA.

John has expertise in making innovation in labour market strategies work for industry. He is one of Australia’s most creative “Social Enterprises” thinkers who loves finding an innovative and reliable career pathway for challenging unemployed people – from disadvantage to self-autonomy and prosperity. Key to developing the idea and assembling the team that developed the More Sustainable House Project with Lendlease in Yarrabilba, John helped establish CPF and brings a large network of capability partners.

John also holds a number of other Board positions in organisations focused on enhancing the lives of Australians including: the Australian Training Company, a Group Training Company employing 700 apprentices and trainees across many industries; the National Employment Services Association, the peak body for the national employment services industry; and Yerrabi National Services, an Indigenous owned company with the mission of enhancing the wellbeing and economic opportunities for Indigenous people, particularly those living in remote Australia.

Justin is a business builder, project manager and serial entrepreneur who draws from his international experience and background from a range of industries including banking and finance, property development, construction, not-for-profits, social enterprises, people with disability and even the wine industry. His commercial experience and business acumen are further supported academically with his near completion of his Master’s in Business Administration through QUT.

Justin has extensive experience in supporting and building start-ups, having launched his first business at the tender age of 7. From this early age he has continually demonstrated his ability to grow and scale businesses through developing and implementing strategic frameworks and the development of high-performing teams to deliver on the vision.

From the age of 11, Justin has been volunteering and fundraising and generously donates his time to select charities and organisations like an Ambassador for EPIC Assist, an Advisory Board member for Whitebox Enterprises and his own social enterprise One Volunteer. He informally supports other initiatives through mentoring, guidance, and coaching. His focus on supporting and improving the lives of both disadvantaged Australians through Whitebox and people with disability through Disability Housing Solutions and EPIC Assist are causes close to his heart.

As a person passionate about helping others and paying it forward, Justin is very excited about the great work Serving Our People continues to provide and welcomes the opportunity on the Advisory board.

Aishwarya Somal


SVP of Operations - Brisbane

Aishwarya Somal is the Director of Emerson Family Law and Emerson Migration Law and has been a practising lawyer for over 10 years. She was the recipient of the Nick Xynias Lord Mayors’ Young Multicultural Businessperson of the Year 2020 and was inducted in to the Queensland Government’s inaugural Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Honour Roll for her work within the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and wider communities in preventing Domestic and Family Violence. She is also the Vice President of the Womens Federation for World Peace, an NGO which holds consultative status with the ECOSOC of the United Nations.

In 2021 she was inducted in to the Global Law Experts panel as recommended legal counsel for Australian Immigration. Her firm also won the Acquisition International Best Boutique Migration Law Firm 2021 Australia and in 2022 have been awarded Corporate International’s Immigration Law Firm of the Year in Australia. She was featured as one of the Top 10 Women Leaders to Watch in The Silicon Review and is a regular keynote speaker at numerous industry events.

The spirit of service is something that has been instilled in her from a very young age. She regularly volunteers her time with a number of Not-for-Profit organisations in Brisbane, promoting awareness and engaging with community on the salient issue of DV Prevention as well as resettlement issues faced by new migrants. In this work, she assists vulnerable individuals from all cultural backgrounds in accessing the legal system despite several structural barriers to access.

She is deeply passionate about the empowerment of women and children due to her belief in the transformative impact this has on the community as a whole. She is a strong advocate for the rights of those most vulnerable members of our society and in ensuring new migrants are empowered in all aspects of their relocation process to ensure a streamlined settlement experience in Australia.

She considers it a privilege to serve, support and assist in the growth of SOP operations throughout Brisbane and its surrounding regions and looks forward to supporting the founder’s vision for the charity nationally.

Nancy Katsimberis


Secretary & Fundraising

Nancy Katsimberis is the Management Executive at Co-Founder of Australian Utilities Company. She has over 9 years of experience in the utilities sector and is passionate about helping developers to light up their skylines with innovative technologies and utility metering and management solutions.

She is a thought leader in regards to prepaid metering for utilities and has consulted on white papers and completed a thesis on consumers’ appetite for the adoption of this technology by choice. She has presented at conferences locally and in America and was a keynote speaker at the Smart Energy Conference in Sydney. Nancy sits on the National Customer Code Council for Energy Brokers, Consultants and Retailers which advocates and upholds integrity and consumer advocacy in the utilities sector. 

Nancy is passionate about giving back to her community through philanthropic initiatives and projects.  She is the incoming President of the Gold Coast Passport Rotary Club, attracting young and innovative change makers to network, collaborate and combat local and international issues. She is a firm believer that we can all make an impact and to "never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Maria Becis

Maria Becis is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor and Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Australia. Since 2008, she has established an accounting and tax practice, event management business, insurance business and finance business. Her core technical skills are in the areas of business development, stakeholder and community engagement, event management, corporate and government relations, law, taxation and commerce.

An outgoing and positive person with an unfailingly happy personality, Maria is known for her resilience and love of taking on challenges. She thrives on working in complex environments where she can deploy and expand her knowledge and capabilities.

Maria is also the founder of Run 2 Give Foundation. Run 2 Give Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children’s charities through running and sports related events.

In 2016, Maria was awarded the Queensland Achiever of the Year from the State Minister for Arts, Hon Leeanne Enoch and was the Fundraising Champion in 2016 for Dancing CEO’s organised by Women’s Legal Services Queensland. Maria was also recognized as Philanthropist of the Year in 2017 from Women Chiefs of Enterprises International and in 2018, she was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Since then he has started his entrepreneurial journey in various fields such as IT, design, education and real estate, accumulating over two decades of experience within local and international business affairs.

Dario completed his Diploma at the Montaleau Hotelerie School in France. He brings over 25 years of hospitality experience working in fresh produce markets, vineyards of Bordeaux, chalets of the Alps, luxury hotels, Michelin star restaurants & cocktail bars of Paris, the Atlantic coast and the French Riviera.

Dario speaks 4 languages and followed his heart to Sydney, Australia in 2011. There he began his journey of coffee-managing cafes in Sydney. His passion for excellence in coffee remains evident today bringing his craftsmanship to the Gold Coast where he has settled with his family since 2021.

Arnon Yahav

Arnon has been managing partner at an overseas law firm for over a decade. He has extensive marketing and operational experience in the fields of law, real estate, and events.

Karan (Josh) Joshi

Josh has worked largely in SMSF(s), Australian financial markets and comes with an extensive experience in risk & compliance management of large multinational companies and ASX listed companies.

Alan Patching


Bond University Director

An experienced professional in two distinct and different career paths. As a consultant in business, project management, Alan has worked on some of Australia's highest profile projects (e.g. He was owners' Project Director and CEO of owning entity of Sydney Olympic Stadium, and has negotiated some of the country's largest property deals) and in the area of human behaviour, he works one-on-one or with organisations to help people deal with stress related problems and enhance performance. Justin Cohen has spent his 25+ year career within the sports management/marketing, retail and property industries, with international expertise spanning the US, Australia, The Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East and working closely with global brands including Rolex, Uniqlo, Mercedes-Benz, General Dynamics, Nike, Titleist, Pepsi Co and Motorola.

Previously, in his corporate life, Justin has worked for the Interpublic Group, Octagon, overseeing their southeast Asian athlete representation division, with former ASX listed property development company, Sunland Group, managing their AUD $600M Victorian portfolio and for the Adam Scott Company, managing all aspects of former world number one ranked golfer, Adam Scott’s world.

An established sports agent/manager and past personal manager to Lleyton Hewitt, Adam Scott, Andrew Gaze, Michael Klim and Taj Burrow, Justin holds a commerce degree with majors in marketing and sports management.

Among other business ventures, Justin currently holds the distribution rights to RipCurl for the Caribbean, he co-founded Casetta Property a boutique property development company specializing in build to rent rooming accommodation in Brisbane, is the co-founder of SuperConductor, a brand, strategy and creative growth agency and is the acting CBDO for Serving Our People, one of Australia’s fastest growing charities established on the Gold Coast.

Aimee has started her business in Sydney over 30 years, investing in tourism, education, media and other fields.

Especially in the travel industry, with branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Cairns, Tasmania. The brand Jubo Tours is mainly engaged in Asia inbound groups and JPT Tour Group operates international inbound business, and local travel respectively, and has its own brand coach fleet and cruise. It also operates scenic attractions and day tour routes, such as the famous Australia Zoo Crocs and Tangalooma Island Day Trip. Also the permit holder for operating the famous Glow Worm night tour in Gold Coast.

In Tasmania, the Manor~White Peacock Garden is high-end market accommodation for small groups.

Established Hayes International College (HIC) is an ASQA registered training provider providing education to international and local students and has been registered with CRICOS as a training provider for international students in Victoria since 2006.

Courses cover aged care, leisure, health management and early childhood education courses.

Sylvia has honed her expertise in the fields of finance, project marketing, and real estate across Australia and China over 10 years.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Queensland. Following her passion for finance, she completed her master's degree in Finance from the University of Sydney.

With a wealth of experience in project marketing and property investment in Australia and China, she has developed a great interest in real estate investment, influenced by her family and knowledge in marketing and finance. Over the past decade, Sylvia has been actively engaged in marketing and selling numerous significant international and local real estate projects. Her expertise has guided hundreds of families to find their dream homes, while also empowering them to achieve profitable returns and capital appreciation through their real estate investments.

Her diverse experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive skill set and a deep understanding of the industries she serves.

Lady Mayoress Nina Shrinner  


Lady Mayoress of Brisbane and Chair of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust

Nina is a mother of four, a lawyer and former special advisor to the Federal Attorney General.

She was born in Queensland and has spent most of her life living in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs. Nina has a real passion for people and loves the opportunity to provide encouragement and support for the fantastic work being done by charities across Brisbane. Like her husband Adrian, she believes that the sign of a strong, healthy city is a city with a big heart.

As the Chair of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, Nina is devoted to ensuring the Trust not only continues supporting grassroots charities that are having such a big impact in our community, but also to enhance Brisbane’s reputation as a friendly and compassionate city that will host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Alvin Maradeen


Activations Manager

Alvin is a devoted family man originally from Sydney, who has called the Gold Coast home since 1992. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are proud parents to three sons and a daughter, aged 17 to 24, all of whom continue to live at home.

Alvin dedicated 25 years to Education Queensland as a senior Mathematics and Chemistry teacher before retiring in late 2016 due to health reasons. His commitment to education and his students was matched by his active involvement in the community.

Throughout his career, Alvin has been a passionate contributor to various community organizations. He has served in leadership roles such as President in sporting clubs, participated in his children’s school P&C, and contributed to Synagogues in both the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

In recent years, Alvin has channeled his energy into improving his health and fitness. He has developed a keen interest in the gym and has combined this with his love of cooking. Alvin now enjoys experimenting with recipes to create healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals for his family and friends.
